After the Q-Net-Assess meeting in Deventer (Netherlands), we initiated to organise a meeting with human surveillance and reference laboratories, as was suggested by the former Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Gerda Verburg. During the Q-Net-Assess meeting Gerda Verburg shared her experience regarding the Dutch Q fever outbreak, which is the largest described outbreak of Q fever in humans, with over 4,000 human cases. Gerda Verburg mentioned the importance of keep making the connection with partners from human health and to further improve the OneHealth perspective. Therefore, a virtual meeting is organised on Friday 25 October 2024 to inform colleagues from human health about the Q-Net-Assess project, the progress, and the importance of testing different isolates, which will hopefully additionally help us in the challenge to lay hands on samples/strains/isolates from humans. In case you are working on Q fever in human health and you wish to attend the meeting, please contact Tara de Haan (t.d.haan@gdanimalhealth.com)
